AUSTRALIAN NON-FICTION BESTSELLER 5TH EDITION

Dementia is now the #1 cause of death in Australia and the UK, and #2 in Canada and New Zealand, according to the World Health Organisation.

Yet, some dementia researchers say that 9 out of 10 cases could be prevented. Others say it could be reversed, if found early enough. Both say that lifestyle changes are the key.

This eBook shows you how much you can do to prevent, delay or reverse dementia – based on over 500 published research sources. In 109 pages, this concise eBook:

  • Shows why dementia rates have escalated in the last 30 years;
  • Explains the causes of dementia and how to avoid them;
  • Confirms how the new dementia drugs won’t improve memory or thinking;
  • Describes the 11 lifestyle changes you can make to prevent, delay even reverse dementia – which are less costly and more effective.

This eBook cites all sources directly, with clickable links for easy checking. Also, you buy once and access any future updates we may make.

It explains the research in plain English – so you can understand it, consider it and have better-informed discussions with your health professionals.

“I highly recommend this ebook to every person young or old…so these lifestyle factors can be applied to decrease the incidence of dementia in our community. – Isabel N Baker, author of A to Z of Dementia Care.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kim Brebach is a baby boomer and veteran information researcher and writer in technology. He’s also passionate about cooking whole food and drinking quality wine.

Over decades working in IT, BioTech & MedTech with companies like Silicon Graphics, Novell & Roche Diagnostics, Kim researched & wrote hundreds of papers to make complex concepts easy to understand. Many say they’re a joy to read.

In the 90s, Kim’s first wife developed COPD, a terminal lung disease. Searching for ways to ease her suffering, he discovered troves of health & medical research that none of her doctors seemed to know about. Much of it was about preventing disease, rather than trying to cure it once it had taken hold. After her death, Kim kept his finger on the pulse of preventative medicine research.

30 years on, Kim translates the latest disease prevention research into short, snappy eBooks. They’re focused on the diseases that keep boomers awake at night like dementia, cancer, heart disease and diabetes. The ‘anti-diet’ is a bonus. It came about when this research keep hammering the need for real, whole food. Showcasing skills honed over decades, Kim transforms dry research into engaging ‘who-done-its’. Science has never been so enjoyable to consume.

Kim’s not a health or medical expert but he’s found thousands who are – and provides direct links to them all in his eBooks. You can read Kim’s full story here.

  1. Tom D

I’m a retired GP and I found your eBooks on dementia and heart disease very illuminating.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for posting this feedback, Tom. We treasure comments like this even more from the medical profession.

  2. John O’Connor

Thank you Kim and Tracey for this wonderful reference point. I think the clear message my wife and I have taken from our reading is that we can make a real difference to our outcome by taking a wholistic approach to our lifestyle. The food we eat, the exercise we undertake, the way we engage with the world socially all make a real contribution to our mental health and the progress of the disease. This has been a liberating experience as we no longer hang 100% of our hopes on the doctors. Congratulations Kim and Tracey – you have made a real contribution to your readers welfare. Thank you also for your generosity in keeping the cost so affordable – this shows real compassion and concern for others which is greatly appreciated.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for these wonderful words, John. Kim and I appreciate them so much. They are in such stark contrast to the negativity we get on Facebook from people who haven’t the eBook and probably never will.

  3. Angelika

Very easy to read and informative. An enjoyable and conversational style. The links to references are brilliant. Highly recommended for anyone who is concerned about, or would like to know more about cognitive challenges and dementia.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Angelika, for your succinct and wide-ranging feedback. Kim and I are so glad you found the content useful and format enjoyable. It’s what we hoped for!

  4. Michelle P

When I read about your eBook on Facebook, my interest was piqued. I have suspected for many years that pharmaceuticals – particularly those taken over many years – have a significant impact on overall health and wellbeing.

I don’t think many people stop and think about the long term effect of prescription drugs (particularly when combined with other drugs). I have always aimed to find a natural way to deal with health issues by getting to the root cause, rather than suppressing it.

Thank you for your research, great information and links to check out your findings. I’ve been telling everyone I know about it.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Michelle, for your detailed feedback. We, too, were shocked about the number of drugs – commonly prescribed for boomers – that are so harmful to our brains. Thank you for telling your friends, too!

  5. nogozanne@yahoo.com.au

I am a Registered Nurse and found the book excellent reading with evidence-based suggestions. A comprehensive review of diet, exercise and medication some of which I knew, others were new. Those of us in the Medical Profession need to stop and research more, not rely on the drug companies.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Suzanne. It means so much to us to receive feedback like this from someone with ‘field experience’ is it were. We get a lot of criticism on FB from others who dismiss the eBook without even reading the description or the preview.

  6. Robyn W

An excellent read and reference. Such a comprehensive coverage of every aspect of the topic, thoroughly researched, and with that touch of hope we’re all needing.
The content is so well written and also carefully packaged to make essential information accessible. Thank you!

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for this feedback. The writing is sooo important to Kim so we really appreciate your kind words, Robyn.

  7. Allen Travers

Everything in the book resonated. I was already doing a lot of the things suggested, but also was able to see some new stuff, which i will try to adopt. A very useful reference which I have recommended to family and friends.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for your feedback, Allen, and for recommending the eBook to others. We need more people to know they don’t have to be powerless.

  8. ToniP

I’ve had my book for about 3 months now. I’ve implemented a change of eating, yep, I got the Mmm Anti diet e-book too. I fell better within myself, though emotionally I’m starting to crash (both parents have dementia – mum is advanced)
My aim is to be the healthiest that I can be to, hopefully, prevent or all least slow down my risk of getting Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
The book is very informative and I do re-read when I’m floundering.
All in all, I do recommend the book to everyone.

    • Tracey James

Wow, thank you, Toni. Those are kind words indeed. I’m sorry to hear about your parents but hope the research in the eBook may help you. Re-reading is a great idea – as is taking a snapshot of the 11 steps on your phone.

  9. Carol L

It was lovely to find your dedicated work but, most of all, to know it is backed by research. The evidence was refreshing and a bit confronting at times and I enjoyed clicking through to read it. Thank you.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Carol. Glad you liked the format and the links. We know it’s a different approach but it seems to be popular. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  10. Karen S

I sat down to just have a bit of look and couldn’t put it down until the end. Your ebook is brilliant. I have a mother with AD and my father had PD and have been worried I will follow suit. I mentioned to my sleep specialist recently how I felt AD was connected with lifestyle and diet. He more or less laughed at me and said what we eat has nothing to do with it. He said my lack of sleep was stress, so deal with that and come back in 12 months. So, thank you for your book. I believe every word. What it says is spot on. I look forward to the day when the rest of the world open their eyes and change their ways.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Karen. We look forward to that day too!

  11. Patricia P

I have read your book and will reread it in the future as a reminder to stay on track. Fortunately, most of what you recommended, I am already doing. I am now 80 and have managed to avoid medications. I have always been aware of the dangers of ultra processed foods, and reading your book has reinforced that.
I am also getting plenty of exercise, and I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
One additional challenge has been to stay actively socialised, mentally alert and being helpful as much as possible.

    • Tracey James

So pleased to hear that you found the eBook reaffirming. My late mother was very much like you – healthy, medication-free, active and mentally as sharp as a tack. Pls keep in touch.

  12. Jan H

My husband was diagnosed with MCI, I’m sure as a result of many years of undiagnosed sleep apnoea. Your book was a life line and I was absolutely determined we were going to win the battle against deteriorating memory and possible Alzheimers. Now 8 months later, his tests showed no further symptoms and his neurologist refused to give a diagnosis of dementia. You cannot imagine our joy and relief. We’re now planning a four month camping trip in our new motor home to outback Western Australia – and of course I’ve bought your diet book just to ensure we’re on the right track.

    • Tracey James

This is fantastic news, Jan. I am so glad your hubbie experienced such positive changes. We both hope you enjoy your outback odyssey, too. Sounds fabulous!

  13. Gabrielle D

Thank you so much for all your work in this area and for making all the scientific mumbo jumbo understandable! The book was both terrifying and reassuring. I have a friend who has suspected she may have early stages of dementia at 65 and recent brain scans have confirmed this. That was what inspired me to get more information. I am 57 so feel I have a bit more time to get started with many of your suggestions! I also love that you didn’t say I can never have a glass of wine again!
The information about the (lack of!) efficacy of the main medications was truly depressing as I kind of hoped there would be a miraculous pill I could take in the next 10 years as part of prevention but it is clear that is an incredibly long way off!
Thank you for helping me go take some really positive steps towards improved health in general. I have already cut back dramatically on UP foods and sugar and think twice about popping another nurofen!

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Gabrielle. We found the dem drug insights pretty disappointing too. So much hype, so much hope, but so little substance!

  14. RP – Health Coach

There are a lot of sceptics about reversing dementia. Even reputable organisations, charities and western trained doctors are behind the curve on this and are fuelling the fire. The good news is that there is a growing body of research and case studies with more coming out this year, I believe. The more success stories from patients, the better, I think.

    • Tracey James

Thank you. We hope more patients will contact us to share their success stories, too!

  15. SSS

I have just finished this ebook…fabulous…so informative, well researched and referenced and scary if not utterly terrifying!

I am 75 and have a science/biology background. I worked for over 30 years for pharma companies managing and monitoring clinical trials of new drugs … many of which you name here. In phase 3 clinical studies, the aim is to establish efficacy for treating the disease and obviously safety, too. It is only once the drug is on the market, being used by potentially millions of patients…that unknown adverse events come to light…so I understand what you are saying.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for this insightful comment. It is so refreshing to hear from someone who has been ‘behind the curtain’ as it were and, you’re not alone. We found it all pretty scary and so do quite a few others.

  16. T. Piggott

Very thought provoking and interesting. I (57F) am concerned about getting this insidious disease myself. I have insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome/high BP, now that I have found more information about the possible long term implications of these health issues, I am more determined than ever to do as much for myself as possible. As I was looking for answers to help myself, I came across your e-book. I found it resonated with me so I have just ordered your MMM e-book, to assist with dietary changes.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Toni, for your insightful feedback. I think you’ll find the anti-diet will help with MET syndrome. Pls let us know how you go.

  17. Mike Clarke

So glad I got this e-book by Kim Bebrach about Dementia. I worked in a technical environment so value the effort of good credible research backed up by relevant evidence. Kim has done a superb body of Work, very thorough, comprehensive and with all the links/references to the supporting evidence.

I’m 71 so Dementia is something that crosses the mind.

Kim’s work has provided me with the right guidance to help me on the ageing journey and hopefully minimise, if not avoid the potential of dementia.

Big thumbs up to Kim, Thankyou

    • Kim Brebach

I really appreciate your kind words, Mike, which are more than generous. Dementia is a huge threat for us boomers, and the official story is so relentlessly hopeless. That’s why we had to tell the (much more positive) side of this coin, which puts us back in control if we start early enough. It’s scandalous that so much of the positive research we’ve unearthed has simply been ignored by medical minds and media alike.

  18. A Leach

I found your ebook very easy and straightforward to understand the key concepts. My father had Alzheimers and two aunties (on both sides of the family) also had dementia. My mother in law was also diagnosed with Alzheimers some years ago and she has been a very interesting case study for me! I have been “researching” informally over quite a few years ways to prevent dementia. So many things that you wrote about really resonated with me and my observations. Thank you.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Amanda. We started digging into dementia after my mother developed it, so we really understand. So glad the eBook resonated with you.

  19. Tina R

I have just finished reading your book on Dementia and loved it. For years I have been changing my diet, exercise practice and general lifestyle from realising how much the world has been changing and affecting our health. So, reading all your facts and suggestions, it was great to realise I’m on the right track.
I had a suspected undiagnosed mini stroke 5 years ago which significantly affected my cognition. I was unable to control my life, write my journal, make diary entries without white out, talk clearly or have facial recognition. Not to mention the memory loss!
As I slowly got more able to cope I started really trying to work on my Brain Health and recovery. So finding your book has been wonderful. I am either not surprised by or agree with everything in your book. I’m so pleased to have it now for reference, and to jog my memory.
Thank you so much for so generously sharing your knowledge.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Tina. So glad that we’ve been of help to you. Thank you for sharing this.

  20. Coral P

I love the presentation of the book. It is easy to absorb the facts without becoming overwhelmed. For me the information you provided about Xarelto is invaluable. I was prescribed it and was completely unaware of the class action in the USA.
As you are aware, dementia is not age related so the earlier people read your book & start to make small lifestyle changes the better their chances will be of avoiding this dreadful disease.
Keep up the great work you are doing…you are an inspiration in getting the positive back into people’s lives.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for your kind words. Xarelto was a big shock to us, too!

  21. A Simpson

This is what I’ve wanted for most of my adult life – the latest health research written in an accessible way. And as if that isn’t a feat in itself, you have made them available at a very reasonable price. You have the smarts, the heart & the generosity & put it where it’s most needed & timely. I am very grateful – thank you

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Anne. Your kind words mean a lot to us.

  22. Carmen Childs

Thank you both for producing these well researched and written e-books. I’m grateful to you for motivating me to make lifestyle changes to create a happier, healthier life.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much. Carmen. We really appreciate your kind and precise words.

  23. Deb K

I purchased the eBook because our 95 year old mother has dementia and it saddens us to see what has become of her. It is also a scary thought, seeing her like she is, that we could also end up like that. I have even thought I would rather die first than have it happen to me. I found the book most interesting and very informative and read it in one sitting. Congratulations on a fascinating, informative book on a very worrying and debilitating condition.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Deb, I felt exactly the same way when my mother developed dementia. It was so heartbreaking to see her diminish. It’s what prompted me to join Kim at M&M. I really wanted to stay retired!

  24. Adele W

Just finished reading your book and loved the way you put it into layman’s terms for us oldies to understand. I am one of the lucky ones so far. I do not take any medication, hopefully I won’t have to, and reasonably fit for my age 73. I am of Polish decent and brought up on meat and potatoes lots of cabbage and sauerkraut, but giving up smoking years ago put on 10kg. Not good, but thanks to your book, I will get healthier.

    • Tracey James

Hi, Adele, thank you so much for sharing this. Being German, Kim was thrilled because he loves meat, (a few) potatoes and sauerkraut, too! BTW, sauerkraut is one a super-food, so keep that on your plate, Kim says.

  25. Donna K

Since Mum’s dementia diagnosis, my brother and I, being baby boomers, have been doing everything in our power to prevent this insidious disease from striking us. Our focus is on a mainly plant based Mediterranean diet, and exercise every day. We research all the time as well, but your book has done all the hard work for us. I have learnt some amazing new information, about diet and lifestyle and some great websites to visit. We are very grateful for your wonderful work.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Donna, Kim and I had the same reaction after my mother died with dementia. So glad we’ve been able to help you.

  26. Christine

I thought it was presented very well as some of the information was very technical and some was very confronting. The little personal asides made it relatable.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Christine, we’re so glad you think so. We were worried that any levity might lessen the gravity of the research, but hoped that some might make it more digestible, or easier to understand or relate to. Sounds like it may have worked!

  27. Margaret K

I have found all three books very helpful and informative and I am trying very hard now to follow all the guidelines. I may fall off the bandwagon occasionally but will hop straight back on when I do. After all, some habits are hard to break as you well know so baby steps for a while.

Thank you for all the tips and valuable information and the follow-up emails which show you care. With all this new found knowledge I hope to ward off dementia and cancer, both of which have been in my family history (father died of lung cancer, mother of dementia).

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Margaret, for your kind feedback on those 3 eBooks. So glad you have found them so useful and are happy to share your thoughts.

  28. Wendy Z

Thank you for getting your excellent Dementia book out there! I was a carer for my mother and my husband who both had severe dementia, so I really wanted to know if there was more than I’m already doing to help prevent me going the same way.

I have actually already been doing what you recommend for many years (take no medications but do take supplements, eat little processed food, avoid bad oils, exercise daily, sleep well etc) but I’m so glad that all the different information about medications, nutrition and more is in one place for people who have just followed the standard line for so long.

One seemingly small piece of information in your book was valuable for me. The doctors could not tell me that my husband’s severe lean to the right when walking and his tendency to fall flat on his face were part of the dementia. (They had neither explanations nor help).

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Wendy. We’re both thrilled that you found it so useful.

  29. Susanne J

Hi Kim, thanks for keeping in touch. I originally just skimmed thru the book, then now and then would get sunk into it. I am already doing lots of good things around diet and exercise, but have found some surprises in the book that made me look more into a few things. Love the research and the links to more. I have made lots of people aware of your great, informative book. I do go back to it often. I also value the way you keep us informed of new stuff you uncover. Many thanks, a very valuable resource

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Susanne, for your kind words. So glad you found the eBook and new material so useful. Really appreciate your sharing your thoughts with others.

  30. Irene W-P

I saved your amazingly referenced book to iBooks and read it today on my iPad. I was pleased that I am already doing most of the 11 strategies. It was very reaffirming. I love it. All the good stuff in a nutshell. Very succinctly written, a pleasure to read.

    • Tracey James

Thank you Irene, so glad you’re already on the same page and liked the style. All the best.

  31. Ann S

Recently, my doctor told me to cut out sugar processed food and bread but I’d already done it. You see, I’d read the book earlier this year and was surprised that my memory improved. It’s an excellent book. I think he needs a copy!

    • Tracey James

Thank for that thought; I wonder if he would accept it?

  32. Annabel Thompson

I think a lot of people would be in denial about sugar and find it hard to give up, as it is in almost everything. Thank you for all you are doing to get the message out there. People younger than 70 need to now about this, too. They think they are invincible but they are in for a wake up call some day.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Annabel, we were surprised by the amount of sugar hidden in what we thought were super-healthy foods. We need to be very vigilant, it seems!

  33. Jen S

Thanks for all the research you did. I feel very well informed now. I really liked the side-tracking to other info such as the foot health sequence. I’m looking forward to being more intentional in following the Med Diet and staying away from processed crap. I might just try cod liver oil, too….

    • Tracey James

We love the foot sequence, too. We do it every week without fail. Thanks for sharing your feedback.

  34. Pamela Wright

Lots of balanced research! I read it through and now I’m going back through having a look at the links. Pro-tip use a iPad or tablet to read it on.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Pamela, and for the Pro Tip. We agree. At a pinch, our eBooks can be read on large-screen smartphones but really, tablet is best and desktop next best.

  35. Marie

A must read book for those of us in or approaching our later years as well as family and friends so they can understand help us in our journey. It is easy to read and has a lot of informative content that has helped me understand what I can do to help myself. I highly recommend it.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much so your kind words and recommendation, Marie. We both really appreciate it!

  36. Robyn F

Thank you so much for writing this book. It has helped me to help Mum and also informed me of what I need to look out for, for myself in the future

    • Tracey James

Thank you for letting us know, Robyn. That is exactly our hope.

  37. Wendy D

Have downloaded and read all of your books. Easy, informative reading and I love all the links to real studies and factual information to back up your content. Thanks so much for writing these books. I’m recommending them to friends.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for reading all three, Wendy! So glad you found them great reading and useful.

  38. Margaret M

Well done, Kim. Your book is a mine of useful information and it is easy to read and understand.

    • Tracey James

Thanks for your lovely feedback, Margaret. Kim is thrilled that you found it easy to read and understand – very important!

  39. Elaine S

I am really enjoying the broader food range – so much tastier with so much more variety. Too early to say whether my ‘cognitive decline’ is improving but I’m loving it!

    • Tracey James

Thrilled that you think so, Elaine. We feel exactly the same way – and wonder why people think healthy eating has to be limited and boring. It’s anything but!

  40. Victoria E

Thank you for making all this so readable and easy to access. Such a great read and so good to know I am doing some things right. Now to add in a few more changes – which I can see are doable.

    • Tracey James

So glad you think so, Victoria. Hope the rest of the changes are easy, too.

  41. Lorelle W

I highly recommend the books on dementia and the “anti-diet”, after hearing so much conflicting information on both topics. I was amazed and impressed by the depth of research studies the author had consulted and referenced, with valuable links to studies included. This research provided a wealth of substantiated information. The science-backed read was combined with the warmth of personal and humorous anecdotes which lightened the scientific info, but by no means diminished it. I have already changed some aspects of my lifestyle and am now determined and confident about changing others. Thank you so much, Kim, for the incredible writing. Thanks, too, to Tracey for the kind and caring follow-up where needed.

    • Tracey James

Wow, Lorelle, your kind words made our day – especially as we’ve been battling anger and abuse on Facebook for even suggesting that anything can be done about dementia. Thank you so much!

  42. Sally Waller

So pleased with the information provided in an easy conversational manner, with links to the full on studies and reports when I wanted to know more. I’ve read, re-read and made notes and have commenced ‘making changes’ Thank You for producing this informative read for all us Boomers! Though I am going to try and instill a lot of ideas to my kids.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Sally. So glad you found it helpful.

  43. Bev N

I thought your book was excellent. We’ve had dementia in the family and I’m very keen not to get it, too. I really appreciate all the work you’ve done to make this research easy to understand and apply.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for sharing this, Bev. So glad you fond it easy to read AND apply.

  44. C Norman

I read widely on health issues including research papers and, mostly, they’re long, boring and hard to read. I couldn’t put this e-book down and comfortably read it twice in a day to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. Well done, Kim!

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Cheryl. It’s Kim’s main goal to make this dense science easy to read so your kind words mean a lot.

  45. Vanda C

Thanks, Kim. I purchased Marbles 4 weeks ago and I finally made the time to read it today. We Boomers are very fortunate that you’ve put your time into research and provided us with such detailed information on which to make decisions.
I don’t have any worries at present – you’ve confirmed that I’m that I’m on the right path, and now I can add some of your recommended exercises to my lifestyle.
    A very worthwhile purchase!

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Vanda, so glad you found it so worthwhile!

  46. Vicki Quinn

Thank you for this ebook. It is very interesting. Being at the age where things aren’t as easily remembered, it is good to read that it is what we eat mostly that causes this memory loss. Trying to get better at what we eat. Would love the doctors and government promote prevention rather than all the drugs we are given. I have a family history of heart desease so am taking cholestrol tablets which really bothers me when that is one of the side effects to memory loss.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Vicki. We can’t understand either. Prevention is always better than cure – especially as there isn’t one for dementia.

  47. Leeta Cornish

According to my DNA, I have a propensity for Alzheimer’s. Although, I am taking supplements etc. to hopefully- prevent this, I found the book so worthwhile. Simply written, yet all the valuable data is verified with quality research. It gives me a lot of hope. Apart from the book being of value to me, Tracey was a great support to me. I had a few difficulties getting the book to download etc. Where most people would have given up on me, Tracey went above and beyond to be certain I was able to access everything. Thank you.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for your generous words, Leeta, and I’m really happy to help. Kim and I are boomers and we appreciate personal service, if ever we receive it!

  48. Brightnhappy

Brilliant – pulling together many elements we’ve all heard about – then making is seem easy for all of us to change gear and get a bit more serious about this thief that creeps up on many unawares. There is a lot of very interesting and useful information in this book. There is also good referencing to follow up on. I was delighted to see that I have been doing so many of the very helpful things recommended in this book. Read it in 2 sittings and will now go back and make some essential notes for changes we can make easily together.
Thank you for taking the time to write and pull all this information together – I’m sure it’s going to really impact positively on those who carry through on the advice given. With so much at stake who wouldn’t take this advice !! I’d like to be a centenarian with all my marbles in tact! Thanks again.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful words, Rosie! We’re both so glad you enjoyed it.

  49. Margaret Kosmas

I am so pleased I found this book. My mother had dementia before she passed away and my older sister is currently a victim of it as well. I am and have been for a long time, determined to not let it get me as well. I am 74 and still work, I use my computer every day, I read, do puzzles and crosswords to try and keep my brain active. I now obviously have to change my lifestyle a bit, eat the MD. exercise and sit in the sun more often!! Thank you for this, I am very keen to get started!!

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for your joyful feedback, Margaret. I can feel the positive energy from here!

  50. Carolyn V

Thanks for a very well researched book. Gives me hope! Lots of practical ways to improve – and holistically – rather than the very narrow drugs approach that unfortunately most GPs follow. Those that don’t are impossible to get into.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Carolyn. I guess you can see why the non-drug-focused doctors are hard to get to see. What a sad state of affairs.

  51. Lindsey M

I was a palliative care specialist nurse before I retired this year. I saw first hand the devastation dementia can cause for patients but also their carers. At the moment I have a friend who is heading down that way, so your book and advice are invaluable. Thank you.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for sharing your experience with others, Lindsey. This means a lot to Kim and me.

  52. Greta Webster

Excellent book, thanks Kim. I find it amazing that governments are prepared to pay out millions in healthcare and thereby murder millions of people when stricter rules on what we put in our mouths, food and drug wise, would solve many illnesses. Sad indictment, eh.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Greta. Clearly we need to look after ourselves and do everything we can to stay strong, vital and in control for as long as we can.

  53. Linda Robertson

This is a no nonsense must read for everyone – not just baby boomers. We have come to a time where it is imperative for the general public to learn and understand that Big Pharma do not always have our best interests at heart, especially where there is a $ to be gained by them.
Do yourself a huge favour and read this book and then tell others about it.
I am a retired naturopath who is so grateful to people like you both who are educating all of us what it means to be healthy and what it means to be responsible for bringing disease into our personal space. Well done!

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Linda. Feedback like this from someone with your experience is appreciated beyond words.

  54. Stephanie R

I am so glad I bought the Marbles ebook. What I really liked about it was the up to date research, the way it was set out and particularly the advice to commit and start with the 3 easiest things. Many thanks for putting all this together for us.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Stephanie, so glad you liked the approach. Keep going with the easy ones!

  55. J Cutcliffe

I thought I’d drop you a line regarding the wisdom in your ebook. It was so sensible and I was surprised that I hadn’t read anything like it anywhere else. I’m also grateful for how you squeezed so much material into such a compact package and still made it easy to read. I’m recommending this to friends.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Julianne. Kim will be thrilled to hear this.

  56. Jan

I loved the book, it was easy to follow and it was written with good humour.
Actually it made me feel more relaxed about that scary word Dementia.
Thanks for compiling this wonderful book.

    • Tracey James

Wow, Jan! Thank you. Kim has a very conversational style and he’ll be thrilled that it resonated with you.

  57. Marilyn Holloway

Your book is outstanding and I am so pleased I purchased it. Wow, what a wonderful read and what a professional book you have written. What’s funny about this (and yes a sense of humour is important), I purchased this book when I had a moment of concern that dementia was raising its ugly head. We do have Alzheimers in the family so when I started forgetting names, I was looking for help. Like magic your book landed in my lap (thanks FB). So your book was meant for me and I now have the tools to work towards a better and more balanced and sustainable life.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for this wonderful feedback, Maz. Kim is absolutely thrilled. So glad you feel the eBook was ‘meant for you’!

  58. Donna

When I saw your ebook advertised on fb I scrolled past a few times thinking it was just another grab for my money. But I was interested, even from the first time I saw it. I am so glad I decided to read further, and very glad you have put all this together as you have. Reading your book about dementia hit so many chords with me. I liked very much that you quoted studies that I could (and did) research and read. This has not only confirmed what I have thought for years, it has inspired me to do all I can to improve my chances of either not getting dementia or delaying in for as many years as I can. Thank you so much!

    • Tracey James

Wow! What a way to start the day! Thank you Donna, we really appreciate this – especially your comment about Facebook. We get a lot of abuse for ‘demeaning’ a serious subject like dementia by posting about it on FB (and a lot, lot worse, I can tell you). Frankly, if there were any other way to reach Aussie boomers we’d use it. Any suggestions?

  59. Jocelyn Kotchie

I’ve loved this book and have read it through twice, including all the linked research. Much of the information I suspected and was glad to have affirmed – other information showing clear links to AD through medications and particular foods proved to be an eye opener and has given me a stronger purpose in protecting my loved ones. Thank you so much Kim, for writing this book.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Jocelyn. So glad you think so!

  60. Heather Perkins

I’ve appreciated this practical and comprehensive coverage of the various facets of the health equation. I’ve been encouraged to be more intentional in a couple of areas. Also, it has encouraged me to preach more about the need for good nutrition and effective exercise to my friends. Thanks you Kim, for all the hard work you’ve put into this.

    • Tracey James

Thank you taking the time to share your experience. Kim and I appreciate it.

  61. Janet Mac

I’d say I almost never respond to online advertising but this message was so sane and sensible, I felt it might be worthwhile. It was.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Janet, so pleased that you feel this way.

  62. Kathy S

I didn’t want to buy via Facebook (have you seen ‘Titans of Tech’?) I’d heard about this eBook and wanted it. I messaged Tracey and she sent me a link to their website so I could check them out and buy without Facebook. The book is even more impressive.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for sharing this, Kathy. I’ve seen Titans of Tech and I’d love to find an alternative to get the word out there!

  63. Sue E

Thank you so much for your book. It was such an affirmation of what I knew with new perspectives and ideas as well. I am always open to new health ideas and read voraciously on it. So many things you cited, and so much sensible advice. It really resonated with me. I will be passing on its merits, and where to obtain it to others, you can be sure.

    • Tracey James

Thank you Sue. We’re so glad you gained so much from it.

  64. Nuala Leslie

Thank you, Kim, for putting so much effort into this book. I am going to do a second read. I have always been interested in health and tried to eat sensibly, exercise and meditate daily. Yet stress caused a takotsubo heart issue (a heart attack with a difference). How demoralising that was! I recovered well and am following your guidelines pretty much, so thank you for confirming my own findings. My concern is still regarding medications. My blood pressure was all over the place and doctors convinced me that a low dose ACE drug ( I think) would be best. I’ve given in…… but now I’m concerned! It is so hard taking control because there are so many books written by ‘experts’ that say different things. No grains! More protein! Lower cholesterol! Etc etc. Your book has sensible advice and I appreciate your open balanced views. Now it’s up to me!

    • Tracey James

Thank you for your detailed feedback, Nuala, and I’ve asked Kim to reply to you directly via email.

  65. DONNA COOK

Oh wow… where do I start? This book has just confirmed and pulled together what I have thought for years about what some medications do to our bodies. My mum was diagnosed with dementia but, nine days after being taken off all her meds, (her end of life wishes), she remembered me for the first time in 4 years and lived another few months with her mind working quite well. To say that sparked a whole lot of rethinking and researching is an understatement. Your book has been just what I needed and I am reveling in all the learning and confirmation.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Donna, that is just fabulous feedback. We’re so glad it confirmed your experience. Sometimes it can be very lonely indeed.

  66. Brigid M

Kim, you have changed my life. After reading your Dementia ebook, I have started making changes, looking at my diet and meds. I’m also going to a gym which offers workouts that suit me and dance fit classes that I absolutely love. I can’t thank you enough for putting me in the right direction.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for your review and for taking the time to call Kim to tell him your news. It made his day and brought tears of joy to his eyes.

  67. Isabel Baker CNC Dementia

As the author of A to Z of Dementia Care and having had 35yrs experience of working in the field of dementia, I am so glad this so well researched book is available to us boomers and our children. I highly recommend this ebook to every person young or old. It should available to everyone so these lifestyle factors can be applied to decrease the incidence of dementia in our community.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for your wonderful words, Isabel. They mean so much coming from someone with so much experience in the area. Really appreciated!

  68. Ally O’Shea

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m glad I stumbled across it on FB. My dear mother passed away last year after a 2 year battle with Lewy Body Dementia and I knew I didn’t want to go through it myself, nor put my family through it so the information on how to reduce the risk of getting dementia was a must for me. I’m almost 60 and will continue to stay off medications for as long as I can knowing the health risks & side effects associated with medications. My GP wanted to put me on meds for high cholesterol and I told her no, I will change my lifestyle and stay off meds, which is exactly what I did!

    • Tracey James

Thank you for sharing this, Ally. A good friend’s mother suffered LBD, too, so I know exactly what you mean. It was heart-breaking to see such a stylish, intelligent, vibrant woman diminish before our eyes.

  69. D Wills

I speed read it first, now I’m taking my time and taking notes. I’m finding it very interesting and practical. My father had Alzheimers so I’m very aware of insidious diseases like this. Thank you.

    • Tracey James

Yes, Di, my mother had Alzheimers, so I also know how awful it is for sufferers and their loved ones. Thank you for sharing this.

  70. Kaye S

I have read the Dementia book right through. It allayed lots of fears and empowered me. Interestingly, a dementia professor on radio this week covered all the things we can do to lower our chances of getting dementia. They are all in your eBook. Thank you for doing all the hard work.

    • Tracey James

Thank your letting us know, Kaye. It’s so good to know that others are on the same page!

  71. Lynda O

I found the book inspiring and reassuring – and I want to really take my time on the second read to take it all in. Thanks to you and to Kim for holding out hope to us at a time when uncertainty seems to surround us.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Lynda. Were thrilled to be sharing hope and practical steps when so many say that nothing can be done.

  72. Lynne Stephens

I found the Marbles ebook very informative. It led me to the books Dr Dale Bredesen wrote which have changed so many lives. Thank you for the great research you did Kim and the humour you put into it. Song titles brought me back. I encourage everyone to read Dementia Keep Your Marbles.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much for your comments, Lynne. So glad you found it enjoyable, discovered Dr Bredesen and liked the song titles. Three in one!

  73. Keri H

I’m a Naturopath & Yoga Therapist in Sydney and read your entire ebook. Found it very thorough and evidenced. I’ve also summarised the chapters and am quoting it to my clients. A wonderful summary for a non-expert!

    • Tracey James

So pleased you think so, Keri. Thank you.

  74. Suzy Crawford

Thank you so much a good read and so helpful .

    • Tracey James

Hello, Suzy, thank you. So glad you found it helpful. Please keep us up to date with progress!

  75. Margie Love

Had a question re buying the books and had a swift response. I bought two books and read them immediately – wonderfully inspiring and doable. Yay to a healthy dementia free life . Thank you Tracey and Kim.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Margie. So glad you found this and the Anti-diet book so helpful. Really appreciate your insights.

  76. Fiona B

Tracey, you are an absolute gem, a game changer. No idea why it wouldn’t work for me so thank you so much for sorting it all out. Instant assistance is so appreciated these days!!! Off to make a coffee and get reading.

    • Tracey James

Hey, Fiona, it is my absolute pleasure. Personal service is sooo hard to get these days and we’re boomers, too. We love it.

  77. Lea N

When I told my doctor I had managed to reverse most of my dementia symptoms, he didn’t believe me, so I am thrilled that you have written this book, Kim. A major barrier is doctors who fail to point people in the right direction because they’re still following 20th century medicine.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Lea, for your inspiring words. It is fantastic to hear of your success.

  78. Jennifer G

Your book is well written and put together. Good to read. Informative. Well done!

    • Tracey James

Thank for your kind words, Jen. So glad you enjoyed it!

  79. Patricia H

Kim, just finished your book and think it is marvellous. It’s the way I have always thought, especially the wine. (A man after my own heart, and Tracey’s too obviously). Great minds think alike. I love your book and have recommended it to friends and family.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Patricia. Isn’t it great that we can eat, drink AND fight disease?

  80. Jan McC

I read the whole book last night – Wow! My friends think I am a bit of a health nut but, reading your book, I realise I am on the right track… Honestly, I am blown away and it is so easy to read. Well done. I am recommending your book to my friends and I will spread the word.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Jan. So glad that a ‘health nut’ like you can get so much out of it. Keep going strong!

  81. Anna E

I am working through the book and am enjoying your writing style and humour throughout very much. Thanking you for writing this eBook. I can see it is going to be lifechanging for me.

    • Tracey James

That’s wonderful news, Anna. Thank you for sharing it.

  82. Lynette Johnstone

The e-book is so informative. I received it yesterday and have read it twice already. My partner has AD so I was pleased to confirm that we are on the right track as far as diet and exercise are concerned. I found the research into medical information very interesting. We had a really bad experience with some Dementia medication, so have decided to abstain for now. I did enjoy the references to songs as I am a Boomer and love the memories. I also love the reference to having a wine – in moderation of course. Well done Kim. A great read. Lyn J – 6 July 2024

    • Tracey James

Thank you for much your kind and plentiful words, Lynette. Very much appreciated!

  83. Anita Arnold

There is a lot of very interesting and useful information in this book. There is also good referencing to follow up on. I was delighted to see that I have been doing so many of the very helpful things recommended in this book, which I received today and read in one sitting. I turn 81 in twelve days, and I am happy to say that I have an excellent memory, I eat good nourishing food as per your book, I exercise consistently, and after an illness last year I have made an amazing recovery according to all of the health professionals. I do believe that your book will be a truly valuable resource for many people. Well done.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Anita, it’s wonderful to find people like you so advanced on the path. Here’s to many more healthy years and happy memories.

  84. Colin T

Have already read half of the book and am amazed at the content. Some real eye openers in there. Can’t wait to get through the rest.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Colin. Delighted that you’re enjoying it.

  85. Lea Nelson

The first thing that strikes one about this impressive and beautifully presented book is its positive vibe that leaps off the pages through lively colours and photographs. But don’t be fooled. Author Kim Brebach has gone to great lengths to delve into the latest scientific journals to extract medical information not readily available to lay readers. You’ll come away with a comprehensive knowledge of the causes of dementia and why many of the prescribed drugs not only do not work, but cause harm. Above all, you’ll learn of scientific trials where dementia sufferers have managed to stave off symptoms and, increasingly, reverse them. Dementia: Keep Your Marbles is must-read! It gives hope to all those seeking to protect themselves from this heartless disease.

    • Tracey James

Thank you so much, Lea. We are thrilled that you gained so much from this eBook, especially considering your wide reading and deep experience in this subject. Thank you for sharing this with others.

  86. Anneline

Thank you for your inspiring book and to Tracey for your prompt reply to my request for help! I learned a lot.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Anneline, glad you enjoyed the book and happy that I could help you. We really miss personal service so we’re keen to provide it!!

  87. Olga Ellul.

Thank you for all the information in this book. I read the book once but I’m definitely going through it again. Its an eye opener. There is so much to take in and to learn. Both my husband and I agree with what you wrote about fats – something that has always been in our diet – and we are both in our late seventies.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, Olga. Thrilled that you’re getting so much out of it.

  88. Deborah S

I’ve read the book twice as recommended and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s given me lots to think about, too. Thanks for doing all the hard yards and helping me to make informed decisions. Thanks once again for your continued support.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Deborah, for sharing this feedback. We really appreciate it.

  89. Gail Morton

Love the new flipping book format. Just like turning the pages of a real book but better because you’re always updating it. Bravo!

    • Tracey James

So thrilled you think so, Gail. We thought switching was a bit risky but we’re getting lots of positive feedback. People say they like having 3 choices – to read the flipbook online or download or print out. It’s very smart software!

  90. Julie S

This eBook is astonishingly well researched and referenced. To get all this useful info in a small readable package is priceless.

    • Kim Brebach

So glad you think so, Julie, and thank you for sharing it with others.

  91. Maureen F

Very enlightening re existing medical efforts and claims, and your info is simple, sensible and very possible for boomers to act on. Your almost humorous, non-didactic way of writing makes it a great read.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Maureen. Thrilled that you enjoyed the content AND the style!

  92. Adrianne

An insightful and very proactive book.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, Adrianne. Much appreciated!

  93. Louise Thatcher

Just finished reading this. It’s well written, easy to read and packed with useful information.

    • Tracey James

So glad you think so, Louise, and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  94. Toni Granville

Thank you so much. It’s fabulous to find a helpful person on the end of a phone!

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Toni. We enjoy old-fashioned service too.

  95. Gemma A

Thank you for your inspiring book and to Tracey for your prompt reply to my request for help! I am determined to put your recommendations into practice.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Gemma. Very happy to help and please let us know how you go.

  96. Christine Hutchinson

Very real, very readable, very revealing, very well researched.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you, Christine. So glad you feel this way.

  97. Patricia G

Thank you for all the extensive information that’s easy to access – and I really do enjoy the song titles! Working my way through, great to see the 11 points, already nailing some. Presently looking into the salmon situation now I won’t be buying Tassal.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Patricia. We recently found NZ King Salmon fresh and it was sensational. Only problem was, it didn’t taste like Alaskan wild caught; more like Tassal which is worrying. I hope the Kiwis aren’t following Aussie salmon farming practices now!

  98. Karen B

Well done you for sifting through the bulls**t to present a more balanced view and recommendations. Thank you also for the “wake up call” which I will embrace! I am now going to pass this book to my husband (almost 68) who I think could very much benefit from this informative read.

    • Kim Brebach

Thanks for the feedback, Karen, and I hope your husband enjoys it too.

  99. Ros W

Thanks for making so much information (and misinformation!) about dementia, its causes, cures, and prevention, much more digestible. So much to take in! Linking it to dementia studies has been very helpful. Prevention is clearly better than cure… since there isn’t one.

    • Tracey James

So glad you found the eBook helpful and digestible – and for sharing this feedback with others. We really appreciate this, Ros.

  100. Megan F

Thank you so much for this guide. With every page I read, I felt more and more relieved.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Megan. So glad you feel this way and are happy to share it.

  101. Gayle

Very easy to read, well researched, understandable. Treats a hard subject sensitively. The customer assistance is wonderful as well.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Gayle, we are thrilled that you think so. Made my day!

  102. Karen M

I’d been worried about things I’d heard but couldn’t confirm. It’s so helpful to have all this research in once place. One question, though, how will you keep it all up to date?

    • Tracey James

Hello, Karen, thank you for your feedback! Re updates, we’re thinking about making the eBooks ‘read online’ rather than ‘download & read’. This will negate any download issues and ensure that everyone has the latest version at purchase – and later for a second or third read.

  103. Pamela

I found the book very good indeed. I haven’t digested all of it yet, but I am finding it very helpful.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Pamela. We really appreciate your taking the time to tell us.

  104. Julia

The booklet was great, informative, accurate and inspiring.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Julia. That’s really great to know and exactly what we hoped for!

  105. Alison Bassat

I mucked up downloading the e-book and emailed for help. Couldn’t believe it when Tracey called me back and walked me through it.

    • Tracey James

My pleasure, Alison. We love a bit of old-fashioned service, too!

  106. Marion Fogarty

I’ve never found health research so easy to read, understand and apply. I’m telling all my friends about Marbles.

    • Tracey James

That’s terrific to hear, Marion. Thank you.

  107. J Forrest

I found some of the causes of dementia a bit hard to swallow. If we can prevent so much of it, why aren’t doctors saying so?

    • Tracey James

We hear this a lot, John. We think it’s because GPs don’t have time to keep up with all the preventative research for chronic illnesses. Even if they did, they’re probably not set up to advise, monitor and follow up, as researchers who specialise in dementia research can. If you’d like to explore further, please email kim on kim@musclesandmarbles.com.au. He’d love to hear from you.

  108. Abigail P

This dementia e-book is amazing, well shocking really, but I think we need to be shocked about what we’re not being told.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Abigail. We found it pretty shocking too, which is why we wanted to let others know.

  109. Helen

Good information but would prefer a hard copy

    • Tracey James

Very glad you like the content, Helen, but sorry you didn’t like the format as much. eBook is the only way to deliver our promise of ‘always-updated’ research and is 30% of the cost of hard copy for our readers. We hope you continue to get value from it, regardless of format.

  110. Reg M

This is a well researched and informative guide for those wanting a better chance of a healthier, longer life. We owe it to ourselves to be better informed about what we can do to avoid dementia. This guide provides the means.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for this comprehensive feedback, Reg. Very glad you feel this way.

  111. Ian Reynolds

Dementia isn’t exactly a fun topic but you made it short, sweet and, surprisingly, enjoyable to read.

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Ian. Kim will love to hear this. He puts a lot into making tough topics easy to digest.

  112. Sue Mack

I was blown away by that doctor saying that 90% of dementias can be prevented. Why isn’t my doctor saying this?

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Sue; we wondered this, too. It seems that prevention is hard to explain, implement and monitor and most doctors aren’t set up to do it – or dementia research. That’s why those specialists who can do both are the ones who publish in journals.

  113. Susan G

Every baby boomer needs to know this about dementia. We don’t have to be sitting ducks.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you, Susan. So glad you feel that way. It was a revelation for us, too.

  114. Connie Vanderbent

Now I feel I don’t have to wait for a Dementia drug. I feel empowered and I’m definitely telling my friends about this ebook.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for sharing how you feel, Connie. We’re told that the wait for an effective drug could be a long one.

  115. Marilyn L

I’m astonished that so many dementia experts are saying prevention is possible. I feel much more in charge now.

    • Kim Brebach

We were surprised, too, which is why we kept digging. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.

  116. Andre Solles

Your use of song titles and stories is brilliant. It reminds me that you’re a boomer, too, with a life-story running concurrent to mine.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you, Andre. I was worried they might seem frivolous.

  117. Pete

I found this book extremely informative, very easy to read and not too long. I have gladly recommended it to friends.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for sharing this feedback, Pete. Especially glad you found it easy to read. Dementia isn’t a simple topic.

  118. Eva J

Having lived with my mother’s decline due to dementia, I am keen to avoid the same fate. I found this book very readable, with easy to follow strategies and the links to current research very thought provoking.

    • Tracey James

Thank you for this very insightful feedback, Eva. Very much appreciated.

  119. Mary Bolton

I was amazed by the number of references links. It was reassuring to mouse over to check the source, click to read it, then click back to keep reading.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you, Mary. Direct links made the ebook harder to do technically, but I hoped readers might find them reassuring.

  120. Marianne M

Dementia is a serious topic and, although I can see why you used them, I found the song titles and excerpts a bit distracting.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you for your feedback, Marianne. I’ll take a look at this in the next review and see if I can improve the balance.

  121. Barbara Burke

At 76, I am the lucky one who has lived more than my three score years and ten and still going strong without dementia. I am following your 11 points which are happily decreasing my waistline and belly fat and, I’m sure, helping my brain to not shrink or lose pieces of the jigsaw puzzle. PS: I found KEEP YOUR MARBLES a hard read, having two loved ones and a long time best friend on the dementia slide – but I think everyone needs to know what you’re sharing.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you for this comprehensive feedback, Barbara. It is greatly appreciated and very useful. Keep going strong!

  122. Martin White

I was reluctantly persuaded by the research but have a nagging question: why aren’t our doctors talking about how to prevent dementia?

    • Kim Brebach

Thanks for asking this, Martin. I was mystified, too, until I realised that prevention is hard to explain to patients and to implement and monitor, too, so most doctors don’t do it. Few are set up for it or for dementia research, anyway. That’s why those specialists who can do both are the ones who publish. If you’d like to discuss more, please email me directly: kim@musclesandmarbles.com.au

  123. Tony Vanderbent

Easy to read, not too long, with references accessible if you want them. No bull and, most importantly, very relevant in these times of decreasing health of body and brain.

    • Kim Brebach

Thank you, Tony. So glad you found it useful.

  124. Jo Sommers

The lifestyle changes seem doable even for me. I’m more conscious of the risks of developing dementia but feel I have ways to reduce them now.

    • Tracey James

That’s really good to know, Jo. Thank you.

  125. Jil Swinnerton

I’ve been saying for years that fat isn’t the enemy, so thanks for agreeing with me, Kim!

    • Tracey James

Thank you, Jill. Isn’t it great that we can enjoy those good things we banned years ago, without a worry?

  126. Carolyn Brommley

The personal anecdotes made this information-rich ebook lighter and easier to digest.

    • Tracey James

That’s wonderful to hear, Carolyn. We were worried that including our own stories might be a bit cheeky.

  127. Cathy Gibson

I think this e-book is brilliant. I’ve learnt many new things, confirmed that my husband’s and my lifestyles are mostly on track, and how to fix the others.

    • Tracey James

So glad you think so, Cathy. Thank you.

  128. David Gray

Some of the data was a bit hard to digest, even with the conversational approach, asides and explanations.

    • Tracey James

Thanks for this feedback, David. We’ll look into this in our next review.

Just purchased a mixed case from Kemeny’s on your advice – and saved an amazing $119 on one order. Can’t wait to see how much I save in a year.

Brayden M
Very happy to pay this small fee for what is the best weekly wine mailer on offer. Keep up the great work.

Kim is an outspoken defender of truth, justice and value-for-money in wine and I highly respect his opinions, his passion and his convictions.

Chris L

The big surprise, as you say Kim, is there is literally no relationship between price and quality in the wine world. The $10 Azahara you recommended for our farewell party was ridiculously good.

Clive Davidson

Lisa and I have an annual Xmas dinner for twenty of our closest friends and your BWW delivers the goods every year. Not a bad bottle ever. Keep up the great work, mate.

Warren Mason, Competition Director, Sydney International Wine Competition
Huge devotion! Weekly updates! A really useful consumer service. You deserve all the goodwill you have.

David Jackson

I would never have found the Dandelion Vineyards Wonderland of the Eden Valley Riesling at Aldi for $15:00. I was down to the last two bottles and they had cost $20. Well done, Kim. Happy to recommend BWW to any person who wants fair, balanced ratings on good wines and where to buy them at bargain prices.

Carl Shipton

Didn’t know some of the wines, but I was blown away by the quality available for this kind of money. I’ve paid a lot more for labels I know and been hugely disappointed.

Peter Bourne, The Wine Man
Kim is a fearless advocate for truth and value  for wine consumers. Follow him and you’ll be informed and entertained, too.

Bec C

Last year I used your Best Wines advice to pre-order 6 months’ supply of wine to be shipped to me overseas. What a treat! Thanks for the great resource, Kim!

Alan E

Congratulations on a great and informative newsletter. It’s been a wonderful help in choosing good quality, reasonably priced wines. I never miss miss a week now.

Darryl Pratt, Wine Direct
The guys I deal with all respect your opinion and unbiased approach, as I do.

Peter Calder

I buy wine for about a dozen families, for a company and for myself, with current cellar stock 1500 bottles. Your advice is a highly valued and reliable bench mark and, by the way, I am not a connoisseur collector but a consumer. I say drink and enjoy (in moderation of course)!

Bill Walter

I continue  to buy and taste  on your recommendations and thoroughly enjoying the experience and to date, not one disappointment. Don’t plan to retire soon!

Phil Harris

Congratulations, Kim. You’ve been an invaluable source of information and I have no doubt that I am drinking better wine as result. Having only lived in Australia for 5 years, you’ve really given me an appreciation of how much great wine this country produces. So much so that I now can take a bottle to dinner with friends who have many more years of wine experience than myself and even raise a few compliments on my selections. Safe to say I think you can a lot of the credit for that!

Nick Page

Been looking for years for someone who concentrates on the value end of the wine market. It’s written from the right perspective and reduces the legwork needed to find good wines. Thank you.

Doug B

You have a gift for wine description that mercifully avoids all the bullshit about the aromatic nuances of pear skins and Virginia tobacco leaf … Enjoying the prices, too.

Brodie Scanlan

You do great work and I wouldn’t miss your Weekly for quids. We’ve bought many 12 packs based on your lists and every bottle has been a hit.

Stuart McC

Since I subscribed a month or two ago, I’ve used your alerts to guide all my wine buying and they’ve all been good choices. Now I find myself looking forward to reading the mailer on Friday afternoon.

Sarah P

A brilliant service, takes all the leg work out of choosing great wines.

Aunty Jack

I read with great interest every week all the wines you recommend.  I am a big fan of Riesling especially Leo Burings but have enjoyed your other recommendations Frogmore, Claymore and Heemskerk.  I buy all my wines through Kemenys as I like to support the independent wine suppliers.

James T

Bought some of the Hilltops Shiraz (hidden label) from Kemenys after reading your recommendation. Excellent choice. Love your mailer. Thanks.

Graham S

Four times my annual subscription saved in one transaction! How good is that, Kim?

Lambert D
I’ve ordered a couple of 6-packs from your great list of value wines. I have about 500 wines racked up in my cellar but continually need drink-now wines for daily consumption.  However, some of your suggestions are making me wonder whether I need to buy more racks … Thanks.

Kellie Grove
I impressed my husband…..I bought the last 6 bottles of 2015 Lizzie at our cellar.  I have also introduced him to your website.  He was very amused with some of your comments. He is now looking forward to your weekly email, too.  Keep up the great work.

Tim Humphries

Thanks Kim, what a ripping mailer. I suspect my bank account will suffer, but the quality of wine will improve and my stockpile might also grow!  Thanks again.

Keith Hockly
Emailed Darryl from WineDirect re the shiraz special and got a call back within ten minutes to organise the sale. Friendly professional service. Glad I signed up.  Impressed so far!

David Klease
I usually avoid South American wine like the plague. However I went on a limb and trusted your advice on  Montes limited selection in today’s Friday mail out. For $10, it is very, very good.  Nice work Kim!!

Keith J
I enjoy your weekly email immensely and purchased a case of Wynns Coonawarra Cab Sauv from Winestar in a seamless transaction. I’m your latest fan.

Bill Walter
I continue  to buy and taste  on your recommendations and thoroughly enjoying the experience and to date, not one disappointment. Keep up the good work.

I enjoy your irreverent look at the wine world and what it has to offer, whilst picking up some bargains along the way.

Love the way you cut through the labyrinth of wine hype with succinct and pithy comments that are a pleasure to read.

Joan S
Great mailer! I love it and find it really useful when buying wine – you do all the leg work for me.

Chris B
Really enjoying your mailer. It’s independent, refreshingly honest, and doesn’t take itself too seriously.

George Carter
Kim, you have an awesome wine mailer. I can sense the passion!

Nigel
I’m loving your work, and have forwarded your mailer to my wine-loving friends.

Keep up the fantastic work and keep telling it like it is.

Colin B
What a great idea! We’re drinking much better wine, and paying much less.

Col Wilson
Thank you for your weekly wine newsletter. BWW has become an important part of my life.

Clive D
Great work on the mailer – provides a great service to those of us who have never really developed their expertise. We need to be saved from ourselves and our irrational way of making wine purchases. Really enjoy the price/quality ratio.

Peter N Wine Guru
I’ve been thinking about exactly this model for a number of years. Well done, Kim. Great work.

Chris B
I take my hat off to you and can’t thank you enough for your efforts and expertise. Keep up the fantastic work, Kim.
